Day of DIY # 28. Table-skirt.

Hellu!
Time for Husmorsskolans Syförening again :) This is a project from this summer that I never got around to posting.

It's a skirt I made from a tablecloth found at my granddads. It's one of my favorite skirts, so comfortable and still pretty :)

Round tablecloths are perfect for making skirts! :) Just cut a hole in the middle. This was the first one I made (I've made two more since) so it was a bit sloppy... But it's okay. Add a rubber band and you're done!

It's great for dancing, bad for windy weather lol.

I make weird poses. The cool t-shirt was a souvenir one of my sister gave me from Iceland :)

I can't wait to be bare legged again!

Loud leopard.

Hellu!
Sometimes you just need some bright and obnoxious nail art.

Two coats of China Glaze - Hang-Ten Toes, spots with China Glaze - Stella and black outlining with A England - Camelot + SV.

Look at that pretty shimmer x 2 :) Neon shimmer ftw!

I hope this mani could brighten up your day! :)

Day of DIY # 27.

Hellu!
During the holidays one of my brothers in law said he only had the one wool sock and that he had to switch it between his feet (haha naw). Since I had just made a pair for myself (which was a really nice knit) I offered to make him a new pair. He lives way up north as well so he needed them!

They're knitted (with size 4 needles) from one thread Léttlopi and one Plötulopi, also from Iceland and my dad :) Free socks!

Modeled by the bf :)

Some swatches.

Hellu!
Here's three more of my christmas polishes from G.

This is two or three coats of Color Club - Personal Stylist. It's a dark blue with shimmer.

A bit blurry but this shows the color better.

This is two coats of Sephora - Crush in Moscow. Pretty pinkish red glass fleck.

Pretty in the shade as well :) Great formula on this one, I really like the Sephora brush!

Here's two coats of Biolife - 325. The perfect nude for me :)

It looks a bit streaky here but that wasn't noticeable IRL. Mannequin hands!

The whole is bigger than the pieces combined.

Hellu!
A random picture-filled post.

Wearing mostly hand made stuff makes me feel great.

Like this outfit. Two tie dyed pieces. And I realised I haven't blogged properly about the green one! I'll have to get on that.

I have a bf that will test out his new car with a trip to Klippans Yllefabrik. I'm one lucky lady! (ps. Klippan, I also very much like you)

And since I'm on the subject of bragging about my bf, he's an excellent baker as well! (The placemat is thrifted and you know, totally me)

Here's an apron the bf made for his sisters birthday (I was bursting with pride ;)). The bragging continues.

Here's a breakfast I made for us last weekend, "hotel style". Fresh squeezed orange + blood orange juice, eggs, sandwiches, melon and mango. Yum!

Life is good!

Day of DIY # 26. Dress and bags.

Hellu!
Here's some upcycling projects I've made lately. See what the others made at Husmorsskolans Syförening this week!

Here's a shopping bag (tote?) I made for the bf from a thrifted tablecloth.

I made two and gave the other one to the bf's little sister.

This is a dress made from an old tank top (that I drew chinese symbols on ages ago) and a tablecloth from my grandparents that I first turned into a skirt and then took out the waistband and attached it to the tank top :P Upcycled upcycling lol.

It's a really twirly dress!

Sponge and tape and rhinestones.

Hellu!
Finally some nail art! I was really pleased with this mani but the pics are a bit off...

The base is Sephora - Any way any where and then I added striping tape on some nails and sponged on China Glaze - Stella. And made a heart with purple rhinestones.

On my right hand I just sponged and added rhinestones in a different pattern.

These were crazy shimmery. Almost looked prismatic or holo in strong light. Love!

I need to make more nail arty manis!

A new favorite.

Hellu!
Here's another polish I got for christmas.

This is one (!) coat of Sephora - Any way any where. I <3 one coaters. Also, it's matte and pretty.

I don't really know why but this polish was love at first brushstroke (lolol). It will be perfect for nail art! Looking at it makes me want to wear it again.. Also, the brush was really wide but in a good way :)

Day of DIY # 25. Pants.

Hellu!
Today I have a tutorial for you guys. It's also my contribution to Husmorsskolans Syförening. I present to you: how to make (bad) softie pants! ;) (I have no idea what you call mjukisbyxor in english. It's a pair of pants you wear around the house that are really comfortable)

Step 1: just draw a shape on some fabric. I used an old duvet cover. Don't worry about making them exactly the same. Also, don't worry about having a butt and making allowance for that in the pattern.

Step 2: miscalculate everything so you end up with a pair of tight pants. Take a pic of yourself and have yourself a good laugh.

Step 3: add an extra strip of fabric to both sides so you can actually fit inside the pants. Also, just zigzag all the seams so it doesn't hold up very well.

Step 4: wear your weirdlooking pants with pride!

Lol. I actually learned from my mistakes and made a pair of pants the right (albeit sloppy) way.

Take a pair of softie pants you like and trace from them. Front and back.

I miscalculated (this is why I prefer yarn lol, less thinking!) so I had to add a bit in the sides at the top but otherwise these turned out okay. The fabric is really thin but I thought it was a practising exercise so they don't have to last forever.

I hope you liked this super serious post! ;) Let me know if you try my tutorial, I'd love to see pics! (lol)

Black and brown.

Hellu!
I got a lot of polishes from G this christmas, and all of them (minus one) were new to me brands. Here's the first two!

This is two coats of Azadé - Chic Plum. It looks a bit streaky in the pics but it was okay IRL. Easy to apply and it dried pretty fast. The color is a reddish brown with coppery shimmer. And the finish is glass fleck (I think?).

This is two (or three, I don't remember) coats of Azadé - R119. This is also glass fleck I think. Black base with flecks in silver. Pretty!

Day of DIY # 24. Socks.

Hellu!
Before christmas it was really cold and I needed some new wool socks. Preferably knee high. So I made a pair!

They're knitted with one thread Léttlopi that my dad bought for me in Iceland. Thanks dad!

These didn't take very long to make since I used size 4 mm needles. First time I used my Knitpro Symfonie needles. Lovely! (They're rainbowy and wooden)

These socks get the job done but I learned some stuff from making them. The heels were a bit too small and one thread wasn't enough to make them durable. I've already mended them in the heels as a precaution. Make, use, learn!

Another double holo.

Hellu!
Here's a mani from last year.

The pink is three coats of Wet'n'Wild - Hannah Pinktana. I then added striping tape since it's easier to stick to the nail and painted on A England - Saint George + SV. I don't really know what I think about this mani. I didn't wear it long enough to make up my mind :P

Here's Hannah Pinktana on its own. The color is in between Milani - Hi-Res and Milani - Digital. It's a pretty pink scattered holo.

Two late xmas-manis.

Hellu!
Here are two christmas manis that I never got around to posting. But why not post them in january! ;p

Here's a ruffian (like a reversed french) made with A England - Perceval (the red) and then two coats of Princess Sabra. A bit blurry but you get the idea I hope.

This is three coats of China Glaze - Twinkle Lights. Maybe should've used some underwear for this one.

I just couldn't get nice pics that day. Too bad I have 3 more manis from that day lol.

Day of DIY # 23. Rainbow pillow.

Hellu!
Here's something I finished today. I'm very pleased with it and wanted to post it right away! Also, today is Husmorsskolans symöte (a virtual craft meet of sorts) so I thought it would be nice to join in on that for the first time. You can click on the link to see what the others have made as well :)

It's a rainbow pillow for our sofa :)

When I made the blanket I thought granny squares were so much fun, and that it would be perfect making a rainbow granny square. Almost all the yarn is cotton. The white fabric is an old bed sheet from my grand parents. I got the zipper from one of my sisters a while back. So I didn't spend a lot of money on this one :)

I just can't get enough of rainbows.

Pics taken by my personal photographer and bf ;)

Pretty polish, awesome name.

Hellu!
Many polishes have funny names. So far I don't think I've gotten any just because of that but this one... I just had to! And it is pretty. But impossible to photograph!

This is two coats of Wet'n'Wild - Buffy the Violet Slayer. YEEY! Buffy is one of my absolute favorite shows so obviously I needed this one. And I don't have another purple like it :)

It's much more purple IRL. But purple seems to freak out cameras... So you'll just have to take my word for it that it's pretty :P

This morning my study partner and I handed in our bachelor paper. Feels nice to be rid of it for a couple of days at least lol.

Pretty polish, funny name.

Hellu!
I'm in a nail polish group on Facebook and a woman there helped me get ahold of this polish and two others :) Yey! I had a hard time photographing it tho :/

A bit blurry but it shows the color at least. This is two coats of Wet'n'Wild - Teal of Fortune, but I should've done three.

It's a pretty shimmery sparkly teal :)

I have a lot of new polishes so I'll have to get cracking on swatching them.
Also, the bf totally surprised me and came home two days earlier than I thought! :) What a sneaky boy! :D But it made me reeeaaally happy :) He's the best.
