Day of DIY # 34. Yellow and gray pot holders.

Hellu!
I've been a slacking blogger lately. I should probably prepare some posts on the weekend since I don't always have time/energy on weekdays. I haven't been all that crafty lately, but here's something I've managed.

Pot holders for my dad. It seems I make pot holders for everyone lol. But it's a quick and usable gift :)

They're 100% cotton. I got the pattern for the little stars from Attic24 (check out her blog, she loves color!).These are the first I've made with a detail like this. It was fun. The one under is just plain.

Another loud leopard.

Hellu!
Long time, no blog. I've been busy and haven't had any ready pics to get up here. I've celebrated my 25th birthday with the bf, a cosy night in with good food and dessert. I've also been out with friends and celebrated mine and one of my sisters birthdays at my moms place. A busy but fun week! :) Here's some nails from that week! (for my birthday I wore Maxfactor - Fantasy Fire over Orly - Rococo A Go-Go puuurdy!)

Shield your eyes! ;) This is three coats of China Glaze - I'm with the Lifeguard, the spots are Color Club - Disco Dress. The black is A England - Camelot + SV.

And here's a swatch of I'm with the Lifeguard. Matte shimmery neon <3 This winter weather sure makes me want crazy colors :P

Day of DIY # 33. More socks.

Hellu!
Here's my contribution to this weeks Husmorsskolans Syförening.

Yes, it's another pair of socks :P I made these with short cuffs (?) since I was going to use them in my rain boots and knit leg warmers as well. Buuut... They are too thick. It's no biggie tho since the cuffs are so short they're perfect for indoor use :)

The yarn is 1 plötulopi + 1 léttlopi. The heels and toes were knitted with 1 léttlopi + machine knitting yarn. Wool ftw! They're too hot for our apartment atm tho lol.

I kinda need to make another pair of socks since these didn't quite make it... But right now I've got another baby sweater on mah needles. I'm actually going to be an aunt for another baby in the summer! :)

Holo and tape.

Hellu!
Here's a mani from this week. I have to say, I really recommend hole reinforcers! They stick to the nail better than regular tape. And they save time since they're already cut up and ready to go!

I started with one coat of A England - Dragon, then added hole reinforcers for a slanted half moon and Saint George.

On my right hand I added Bridal Veil as well but that was a bit too dark. I should try this again with other colors. Look at that purdy bling tho.

Day of DIY # 32. Mending.

Hellu!
Not all DIYs are extravagant or cute. But if you want to keep your cool stuff and save the environment, you need to be able to fix stuff. Also, grown up points!

This was the bfs shorts before his trip to India. His other pair is... well I thought he should look purdy over there! ;)

Behold! I now know how to fix jeans. Let's think of it as a cool detail to the pants.

This backpack was my sisters and I've had it since like 2006. It was not this happy IRL.

But now it has this cool scar!

And my most worn piece was missing two buttons...

And had a frayed sleeve.

Booyah! This one is good for at least -6 degrees. Who needs a jacket.

I still have some stuff left to fix but I made a dent in the list :)

Creme de la creme.

Hellu!
More nail art coming right up.

This is one coat of Sally Hansen - Grass Slipper, hole reinforcer tape and A England - Camelot + SV.

I've been really feeling the loud nails lately. Also, this really looked plastic which I thought was a bit fun. I should do more creme manis! At least if they are as easy to work with as these two :)

Some more finds.

Hellu!
Here are some more second hand finds (from Pingstkyrkans loppis).

A kilt. Cool.

Purple skirt (really vibrant color IRL) and mustard cardigan. It's missing a button but I didn't notice that til I got home, oops. Also, the color is totally wrong for me but I bought it anyways!

I liked that it had this chevron pattern.

Also, I just had to buy this since it was so cool.

I think I paid 140 SEK for all of this. Not bad. I also bought some duvet covers. The metre price on those is kinda awesome ;) To the sewing machine!
All photos by the bf.
Oh, and I'm an aunt now! On our 4,5 year anniversary my sister gave birth to a little girl. That's pretty darn cool. I'm so happy for them, and me! :D

Day of DIY # 31. Stripe baby sweater.

Hellu!
Here's the second baby sweater I made from this Ravelry pattern :)

This one is for my friends daughter :)

Both yarns are 75% wool and 25% acrylic (or something like it). My mom bought the red for me in Germany I think. I bought the blue a couple of years ago. I really like the colors of it and how it stripes. It's Drops Fabel I believe.

It's for 3-6 months so she'll have to wait a while before she's big enough to wear it.
I can't wait to make more baby sweaters, it's so much fun (and fast ;))! :D

10 rainbows.

Hellu!
So you're probably thinking, doesn't she ever get tired of rainbows? The answer is no, of course not.

Here's a pic the bf took with his fancy flash. Rrrrrrrrainbows!

For this mani I used this tutorial (if you want to learn water marbling, her tutorials are the best!). I used three China Glaze neons for this mani: Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, Towel Boy Toy and Rose Among Thorns (which looks kinda red but turned out pink over my white base boooh!). After sponging that on I added a coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust. Which I like need to add so all manis.

I need to remake this so I get a proper rainbow with red! :) Do you like rainbows?

Grey + orange.

Hellu!
Here's a mani loosely inspired by this one from The Nailasaurus, and colorwise from a mani I saw like 2 years ago but have no idea what that blog was called... Anyways! :p

The base is one coat of China Glaze - Riveting (which I would've added a second to if I wasn't going to cover it) then I added striping tape and A England - Ascalon + SV. I think I like the index and ring finger designs best :)

A bit blurry. Booh I want sunshine!

Coincidentally I got this polish from G for christmas which is really similar to Riveting. I guess we have the same taste :) This is two coats of Sephora - Sunrise on the Moon. Sadly, these kinds of red orange make my winter pale skin look even paler. So nail art is kind of a must!

I've been keeping to my trying to make more nail art the past couple of weeks :)

Day of DIY # 30. Rainbow baby.

Hellu!
I finally managed to mail this gift so I can post about it today, and participate in Husmorsskolans Syförening :)

Behold! A rainbow sweater for my niece/nephew (who I hope will grace us with her/his presence sooon! ;)).

This is my first Ravelry knit :) This one. I made the body a bit longer tho.

100% wool from Klippans Yllefabrik.

Just to blow you away, here's Ninnitinn posing in it. Adorable!

Now I just have to find a shrink ray so I can borrow this. Just kidding! ..... (or am I?)
I've already made another one for my friend who became a mom last week :) Just need to take some pics of that one.

Blue copper.

Hellu!
Here's a polish I ordered before christmas.

This is two coats of Barielle - Falling Star. Copper glitter in a blue creme base. Pretty cool and unusual for a non-indie polish :)

It felt a bit gritty since I didn't use any top coat but a coat would fix that I guess :)

Day of DIY # 29.

Hellu!
Here's something new for the blog: embroidery!

This is a bookmark I embroidered (?) for my dad. I wanted to try and make different stitches (? lol) since I'm making a pillow casing for the bf later. The white fabric is from an old sheet and the embroidery floss is thrifted :)

The french knots (at least that's what they're called in swedish) were my favorite :D

So yeah. I'm gonna embroider stuff now, booyah.
Today we went thrifting so I'll probably make a new second hand post soon :)

Blue times two.

Hellu!
I've been meaning to have more nail art and less regular swatches on the blog. This means actually doing nail art but I've managed two in a week :) Let's just hope I can keep it up! It's fun having cool nails :>

Striping tape! Base is two coats of Depend - 228 and then I added tape and A England - Tristam + SV.

When I was done I realized I've done a really similar mani before. I guess I just really like using the same color in different nuances. What's the word for that? I just can't remember it lol. Also, I really like Tristam.
