Day of DIY # 59. Baby cardi yet again.

Hellu!
Here's something I made for my nephew. He just keeps on growing you know. Baby needs a brand new cardigan! 8) And today is Husmorsskolans Syförening.

I wanted to use the purple yarn again since it's so pretty and I didn't have enough left for some bigger project. And the blue and orange looked good together. Superduper hard to capture accurately on pics tho!

Once again I used this pattern. I should probably try something else next time eeh hehe. The yarn is 100% wool from Klippans Yllefabrik. 130 grams of it more exactly.

Buttons from thrift shop.

Unfortunately no action pics for this one yet but yeah. Baby sweater # 5. I'm actually knitting something for myself at the moment. Whoa! ;)

Some new ones.

Hellu!
I finally pulled myself together after the disappointment of A England not being able to ship outside of the UK and ordered from one of the distributors. I choose this one. Reasonable prices and pretty fast shipping so that was cool. I can't wait for summer to come. I shall wear holo err' day.

 The new ones.

And since I was having so much fun with the cool extra flash I wanted to take a pic of them all together. And color coordinate them. You know. Typical monday night.

First up to be tested was (two coats of) A England - Fated Prince. Here it is in its non holo state.

Bring forth... the bling!

Awesome. That is all.

The no poo of it all.

Hellu!
I've seen a lot of tags on youtube with "what's in my bag?" or "what's in my shower?" and of course it's always schampoo or lotion or whatever. So I thought it would be fun to show you what's in a no poo'ers bathroom 8) What I use anyways. Also, I played around with the flashy flash and felt like a real photographer :P

These are the players. Sometimes found in kitchens ;)

The hair stuff! Liquid honey in the top left corner and apple cider vinegar next to it. The brown powdery stuff is corn starch mixed with cocoa powder (dry schampoo) and the white stuff is baking soda (bikarbonat). At the moment I wash my hair with honey and baking soda and rinse it afterwards with vinegar + water.

Body stuff. The spray bottle contains alum deodorant. The green thing is my menstrual cup which I included since it's super duper! I suggest you get one for yourself :) I wrote about cups here. The one I have is a Ladycup in small. In the purple jar is some home made sugar scrub. I just made some body butter and mixed in sugar :)

The best thing about it is that if I were trapped in the bathroom I could eat for days! ;)
Just kidding! Sorta.
Hope you got some no poo inspiration!

Triple tape.

Hellu!
This nail art contains my two favorite polishes of 2013 (first pic).

I started out with one coat of China Glaze - Stella (should've done two coats but you know.. time) and slapped on some regular tape and Sephora - Any Way Any Where. This polish baffles me every time. Makes a true polish nerd outta me! ;) I shall be sad to see it go. This pic also contains a tie dyed sweater that I realised hasn't been on the blog! :O

Some more tape and A England - Camelot + SV. Pretty cool!

Day of DIY # 58. Lopapeysa.

Hellu!
You could say this post has been in the books for a while. Kinda. I started knitting this lopapeysa (sweater made of lopi (icelandic wool)) around christmas 2009. And then... I procrastinated. I actually finished with the knitting part pretty fast but when I tried it on the arms and body were too short and I was super bummed and put it away for a while. Which turned into years as I forgot about it. Luckily for me I have 3 sisters and especially since I have one sister with shorter arms that really likes home knits! Woop woop! So I decided to give it to her since I couldn't be arsed with altering it. And she would be happy to have it :) Oh and another thing, I finished this in a frenzy since I had to send it before christmas. So the pics are a bit so and so. But still, pic spam! Oh and this is also my contribution to Husmorsskolans Syförening this week :)

This is how I found it after all those years lol. I got almost all of the yarn from my dear mother (this was before my yarn empire ;)). It's made of two threads of plötulopi. And probably size 4,5 needles. And raglan! <3 My mom also translated the pattern for me since it was in icelandic. Guess I'll have to start translating them myself now tho ;)

And from the back.

This pic makes me realize I should probably clean our mirror lol. Anyways here it is after I finished it! My mom gave me the buttons from her stash. Yes, there would be no crafting without my mom.

Close up.

I asked my sister for some action (indeed!) pics. Here you can see the sweater and feel grateful if you don't have that kind of snow ;)

And here it is again in the company of my favorite little boy in the world.

First two pics by the bf, second two by me and last two by sister L.
I'm pretty pleased with myself for turning this 4 year old UFO into an FO. Booyah! Also, this was kind of my first knit (I was ambitious no?) so it's cool seeing it finished because of that as well :)

Finally some striping tape.

Hellu!
I haven't used striping tape in a while. Haven't used much at all nail arty the last couple of months but all of that is about to change! ;) Here's the first nail art of 2014!

This is one coat of A England - Dragon (which is so pretty!) and striping tape + A England - Bridal Veil. And a coat of SV to smooth it all out.

If someone asked me why 75% (probably) of my nail arts include A England I could just show them this pic.

Something new.

Hellu!
I got a juicer for christmas. Excellent :) I thought it might be fun to share some juices here. It's a good way to remember the combos as well.

For this juice I took what I had and that was: some melon, carrots, oranges, blood oranges, clementines and beetroots. I put them in some water (to soften them a bit) but I don't think you have to.

Look at it go!

Delish! It has a clear taste of beetroot but I like it. The carrot and beetroot make it sweeter. And gives it a beautiful color :)

I'm trying to come up with ways to use the fibrey left overs. I'll get back to ya on that one!

Day of DIY # 57. Baby pants.

Hellu!
Another huge pair of baby pants lol. I made these for my nephew and gifted them for christmas. According to my sister he might be able to wear them when he's 8. A slight exaggeration perhaps ;P

I bought the blue fabric at a thrift store. I think it's from IKEA originally...? The cuffs are from an old sweatshirt. Upcycle! :)

Perhaps not the best pattern for such a small piece. Anywho, hopefully they'll come to good use in the future!

Last nails of 2013.

Hellu!
Quick post today. The camera I use for my nail pics wasn't available but since I had actually made some nail art I borrowed the bf's smartphone. So only one pic.

The base is one coat of H&M - Darling Pink with a coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust on top. The clouds are Sally Hansen - Twisted Pink. And a coat of SV to smooth it out. This was really sparkly IRL :)

For christmas I wore A England - Perceval (is there any polish christmassier? Yes that is a word) and for new years eve I wore A England - Tristam since I forgot to paint my nails and only had time for one coat! Crazy. Here's to more nail art in 2014 :)
