Day of DIY # 34. Yellow and gray pot holders.

Hellu!
I've been a slacking blogger lately. I should probably prepare some posts on the weekend since I don't always have time/energy on weekdays. I haven't been all that crafty lately, but here's something I've managed.

Pot holders for my dad. It seems I make pot holders for everyone lol. But it's a quick and usable gift :)

They're 100% cotton. I got the pattern for the little stars from Attic24 (check out her blog, she loves color!).These are the first I've made with a detail like this. It was fun. The one under is just plain.

Another loud leopard.

Hellu!
Long time, no blog. I've been busy and haven't had any ready pics to get up here. I've celebrated my 25th birthday with the bf, a cosy night in with good food and dessert. I've also been out with friends and celebrated mine and one of my sisters birthdays at my moms place. A busy but fun week! :) Here's some nails from that week! (for my birthday I wore Maxfactor - Fantasy Fire over Orly - Rococo A Go-Go puuurdy!)

Shield your eyes! ;) This is three coats of China Glaze - I'm with the Lifeguard, the spots are Color Club - Disco Dress. The black is A England - Camelot + SV.

And here's a swatch of I'm with the Lifeguard. Matte shimmery neon <3 This winter weather sure makes me want crazy colors :P

Day of DIY # 33. More socks.

Hellu!
Here's my contribution to this weeks Husmorsskolans Syförening.

Yes, it's another pair of socks :P I made these with short cuffs (?) since I was going to use them in my rain boots and knit leg warmers as well. Buuut... They are too thick. It's no biggie tho since the cuffs are so short they're perfect for indoor use :)

The yarn is 1 plötulopi + 1 léttlopi. The heels and toes were knitted with 1 léttlopi + machine knitting yarn. Wool ftw! They're too hot for our apartment atm tho lol.

I kinda need to make another pair of socks since these didn't quite make it... But right now I've got another baby sweater on mah needles. I'm actually going to be an aunt for another baby in the summer! :)

Holo and tape.

Hellu!
Here's a mani from this week. I have to say, I really recommend hole reinforcers! They stick to the nail better than regular tape. And they save time since they're already cut up and ready to go!

I started with one coat of A England - Dragon, then added hole reinforcers for a slanted half moon and Saint George.

On my right hand I added Bridal Veil as well but that was a bit too dark. I should try this again with other colors. Look at that purdy bling tho.

Day of DIY # 32. Mending.

Hellu!
Not all DIYs are extravagant or cute. But if you want to keep your cool stuff and save the environment, you need to be able to fix stuff. Also, grown up points!

This was the bfs shorts before his trip to India. His other pair is... well I thought he should look purdy over there! ;)

Behold! I now know how to fix jeans. Let's think of it as a cool detail to the pants.

This backpack was my sisters and I've had it since like 2006. It was not this happy IRL.

But now it has this cool scar!

And my most worn piece was missing two buttons...

And had a frayed sleeve.

Booyah! This one is good for at least -6 degrees. Who needs a jacket.

I still have some stuff left to fix but I made a dent in the list :)

Creme de la creme.

Hellu!
More nail art coming right up.

This is one coat of Sally Hansen - Grass Slipper, hole reinforcer tape and A England - Camelot + SV.

I've been really feeling the loud nails lately. Also, this really looked plastic which I thought was a bit fun. I should do more creme manis! At least if they are as easy to work with as these two :)

Some more finds.

Hellu!
Here are some more second hand finds (from Pingstkyrkans loppis).

A kilt. Cool.

Purple skirt (really vibrant color IRL) and mustard cardigan. It's missing a button but I didn't notice that til I got home, oops. Also, the color is totally wrong for me but I bought it anyways!

I liked that it had this chevron pattern.

Also, I just had to buy this since it was so cool.

I think I paid 140 SEK for all of this. Not bad. I also bought some duvet covers. The metre price on those is kinda awesome ;) To the sewing machine!
All photos by the bf.
Oh, and I'm an aunt now! On our 4,5 year anniversary my sister gave birth to a little girl. That's pretty darn cool. I'm so happy for them, and me! :D
