Day of DIY # 48. Another blanket.

Hellu!
Sister L is also having a baby soon and I made a blanket for that little kiddo as well. Finally I can join Husmorsskolans Syförening again. It's been a while.

Here's a photo by the bf. The blanket is made of cotton and a little bit of bamboo. Granny squares in my heart ;)

My sister took the following two pics.

Kitty size reference! :)

Will I ever make anything non colorful? Probably not.
I can't wait for this baby to be born! :)

Subtle and not so subtle.

Hellu!
I had two days off work last week and I was all
must. paint. nails.

I was short for time the first day and needed a quick drying one coater. I chose H&M - Miss Stone Heart. This grey is awesome! The second day I added a coat of China Glaze - White Cap. A magical combo previously worn here. Since I wanted nail art I added hole reinforcers and Miss Stone Heart again except on the ring finger which is A England - Bridal Veil + SV.

Purdy!

I'm kind of looking forward to the next day off lol. And next week I'm actually free the whole weekend zomg! Will need some festive nails then as we're off to a wedding :)

A day late.

Hellu!
Yesterday was Midsommarafton here in Sweden and my blog feed was packed with posts from yesterday wishing everybody a happy midsummer. I had a cosy evening in, celebrating with my bf :)

Since flowers are so midsummer-y here's a pic I took at my mom's house earlier in the week. I've been feeling flowers lately it seems :)

And here's our dinner from last night. It was deee-lish! Three kinds of herring, smoked salmon, eggs, chives, cheese... And of course new potatoes (not in pic) with butter!!!! They're definitely up there in the top three best things with summer.

Could you guess I like blue and white china lol? :)
This was our first holiday alone together. I'm glad we made the most of it!

Smoothies part 4.

Hellu!
I still drink a lot of smoothies 8) Here's one from my real experimenting days lol.

Ingredients: left over boiled beet, frozen banana + kiwi, an avocado, some baby spinach and orange juice.

She's a real beaut! It tasted okay. A bit unusual but not bad at all. It was really creamy because of the avocado. And of course the beet gives it this cool color :)

Day of DIY # 47. Lip balm.

Hellu!
Here's some more for the no poo category, lip balm! :) I don't remember exactly which recipe I used but you can google or youtube making lip balm and find loads.

If you make it like I did here's what you'll need: something to put it in when double boiling ((vattenbad) I'm using a 2,5 dl measurement), shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax and something to put it in. I also added some honey. [Shea butter and beeswax bought here]

Put it in your cup and melt it in a pan with water.

Pour it up as soon as it's all melted. The beeswax settled quite fast. I reused two lip balm containers and put the excess in a small body butter jar. The honey didn't blend very well, most of it ended up in the jar as you can see.

I had a really busy no poo afternoon that day (more to come some other day) and also made a batch of body butter as gifts for my sisters. This batch looked really good at first, really creamy and nice. But my own at least has separated a bit. I didn't have a lot of shea butter and used more coconut oil so that might be why. Anyways, it's still good for ya! :)

I can really recommend making some lip balm. It's fun and works really well :) Let me know if you try it!

Lately.

Hellu!
Just a few pics from the life of this one (me).

Sister I gave me these pretty flowers for my graduation.

I got all artsy and stuff! Flowers are cool.

Speaking of flowers... My lavender plants are in bloom.

And speaking of lavender lol... I mass produced lavender bags this weekend. Getting on top of the moth situation finally!

I had to cut my arm candy off because of work. Now I feel really naked! :S I'll get them back tho when work is done. But perhaps I'll keep them all on one wrist from now on.

First knit in a while, and it felt gooood! Altho it is a part of a large crochet project :p I just can't seem to shake the granny squares lol. By the way I bought this yarn (100 % cotton, 100 g) at Coop for 50 SEK. Just a tip, it's nice :)

I could shout it from the roof tops.

Hellu!
I love vegetables. Like really. I could shout it from the roof tops ;) Good food makes me happy you know. I just wanna eat it lol. JUST EAT IT! Ps. this link is top quality humour and it actually makes me laugh out loud. Here's some vegetarian inspo for ya'll! Get your veg on.

We like putting stuff in tortillas. Sallad, tzatziki with cucumber and carrot and some veggie sauce thing with mushroom, onion, red pepper, corn, creme fraiche and cheese and some sort of seasoning probably that I don't remember now :p

Yum!

I'm not a lasagne person but I sure do love this one! The first two layers are different veggies + crushed tomatoes and lasagne sheets. The top is blue cheese mixed with creme fraiche or quark (kvarg) or both if you like. Blue cheese <3

Vegetarian eeeh.. balls? We just call them veggiebiffar. Anyways, it's grated potato, carrot and a little cheese mixed with wheatberry (matvete) and an egg + seasoning. This time we made it in the oven instead of the frying pan. Soooo much easier!

We usually have a nice salad and some seasoned creme fraice with these.

This post makes me hungry. Also I just learned a bunch of new english words 8)
And if you liked the link up top here's another one. /giggle
The bf took some of these foody pics.
