Day of DIY # 61. Candle.

Hellu!
Looooong time no see! I've been busy but mostly bummed since a lot of my photos turned out super weird because of some format on the camera or whatever. And I can't edit them on my computer. Anyways, here are some older normal photos! In february (yikes time flies..) I DIYed with a new friend at our place :) YAY DIY! We also made juice (apple and pineapple yum!) and ate cinnamon rolls. It was a pretty sweet day :)

What could you make with this?

And this thin cotton yarn?

A new candle! I didn't take any pics of the process but basically we melted stearine from left over candles in a double boiler (vattenbad). Oh and a tip for ya'lls, use a cleaned can or something else you won't want to use again. The stearine sticks to whatever you're melting it in big time... We made the candle wick by braiding three strands of 100% cotton yarn and then soaking it in the melted stearine for a while.

I made a candy cane-ish candle with red and white stearine + peppermint essential oil :)

My mom gave me the glass jar since it was pretty and I guess she knows I find uses for those kinds of things eventually... :) Thanks mom!

Making candles was super fun and it's a great way to use up all the small candle stumps. Plus it makes great gifts and it's really easy. So tell everyone to start saving you some stearine! ;)
(Last two pics by bf :))
Toodels!
